Dragons players set to shine in SA20

Wihan Lubbe (Paarl Royals), Senuran Muthusamy (Pretoria Capitals), Migael Pretorius (Pretoria Capitals), Caleb Seleka (Sunrisers Eastern Cape), and Duan Jansen (Mumbai Indians Cape Town) will feature in the SA20.

The second edition of exhilarating SA20 competition is set to start on 10 January and will extend for a full month until 10 February where six teams will battle it out for the trophy.

Numerous top local SA players as well as Proteas will grace with fantastic global T20 tournament. Proteas include, Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada, Rassie van der Dussen, Faf du Plessis and Heinrich Klaasen amongst many others. The tournament also features big international names such as Jos Buttler (England), Kieron Pollard (West Indies) and Jimmy Neesham (New Zealand) amongst other global superstars.

Five NW Dragons players will feature in the exciting SA20 competition starting today on Wednesday, 10 January.

The North West Dragons will also be well represented with Wihan Lubbe (Paarl Royals), Senuran Muthusamy (Pretoria Capitals), Migael Pretorius (Pretoria Capitals), Caleb Seleka (Sunrisers Eastern Cape), and Duan Jansen (Mumbai Indians Cape Town) taking part in this tournament.

The Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the defending champions and will play their first match against the Joburg Super Kings at St Georges Park today at 17:30.

Wihan Lubbe and the Paarl Royals will take on his Dragons team-mates, Pretorius and Muthusamy in a mouth-watering encounter against the Pretoria Capitals on Friday, 12 February at 17:30.

The SA 20 competition not only promises top quality cricket, but also gives a chance for SA’s top talent to get noticed by big international T20 leagues such as the IPL (Indian Premier League).

Duan Jansen of the Mumbai Indians Cape Town is such an example, as he participated in the IPL last year for the Mumbai Indians franchise on the back of his performances in the SA20 competition.
