The North West Flames, under the new coach, Adine Adriaanse, got their first victory of the 2026 Telkom Netball League with a 53-47 victory against the Eastern Cape Aloes.
The Flames started their division 1 campaign with a 53-43 loss against the Gauteng Jaguars this past weekend, before regrouping and getting their first victory. The Flames, under the captaincy of former Gimmies and NWU star, Martiné Jordaan, took the fight to the Aloes and played a consistent game to get the better of the opposition.

The Flames a couple of Gimmies players in Sunel Smit and Christi-Mari Coetzee as well Jaime Matfield, the the daughter of Springbok legend, Victor Matfield.
The Flames’ next match is against the Kingdom Stars tomorrow (Tuesday, 28 April) at the Durban University of Technology at 13:00.
