Saints net medals on the big stage

Saints were on top of their game at the recent SACSSA Soccer championships with two gold medals.

Saints Christian School impressed in the annual Southern African Christian Schools Association (SACSSA) National Six-a-Side Soccer Tournaments with two gold medal winning performances.
Their u13 girls’ team and u11 boys’ team both won gold medals, while their u11 girls won the bronze medal. This year’s edition took place on June 6 at The King’s School West Rand in Roodepoort.

The u19 girls and u11 boys teams celebrate both winning gold.

The Saints u11 boys secured their gold medal against Alberton winning 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regulation time while the u13 girls went undefeated throughout the entire tournament to claim gold.

Astonishingly, the u11 girls competed in the u13 age group and still managed to win bronze, a testament to the quality of the team.

The Saints Sports and Culture Director, Claudio Lucas said that the achievements of these teams are a testament to all the hard work being done by the coaches to develop the stars of tomorrow.

“The hope is definitely to become the best soccer school in the country, and we are well on our way with the amount we have invested into our coaches over the last two years, and our system is just getting better and better each year.”
