Lebo Keswa, the consultant for Calabash, explained they handed over soccer and netball kits as well as First Aid kits and school shoes for the learners of the school.

The inspiration behind the outreach was to make a difference in society and add value to the children’s lives.

A policewoman who works in the community approached us and told us about the challenges that the school is facing. We went to visit the school and found out what their needs were, and as we believe in giving back, we committed to assisting them.

“We will also be working on other future projects with them,” Lebo said.

She noted they will also be handing over donations to Sethobela Primary School.

The owner of Calabash Adolphus, Igbokwe, and the school principal, Busisiwe Nkosi, show the learners the donated items.

“We hope to bring a smile to the children’s faces and give them the dignity that they deserve and make them believe in humanity and the principle that ‘it takes a village to raise a child’,” added Lebo.

Aside from reaching out to schools, they will also be having soup kitchens and feeding schemes in Mohlakeng monthly. They will also be donating kitchen equipment and starting gardening projects at the schools.

We hope that more business people and public figures can join us in making a difference in our communities, because the current government is failing us and our communities.”
