FPCH soccer star to jet off to Portugal and Algeria

Khonadzeo Muvhango started playing soccer at a very young age with guidance from his older brother, professional soccer player Khumbudzo Muvhango.

POLOKWANE – Khonadzeo Muvhango is a 16-year-old learner from Flora Park Comprehensive High School who is part of the national soccer team that will be travelling to Poland and Algeria in April.

The Gr 10 learner started playing soccer at a very young age with guidance from his older brother, professional soccer player Khumbudzo Muvhango.

“My brother was my biggest inspiration because he would encourage me to live a clean life with no alcohol and smoking, taking training seriously and listening to my elders to have a long career in soccer,” he explained.

He said that he wants to become a professional soccer player, however, he also wants a qualification to fall back on because soccer is a short career.

“I am adamant about obtaining an IT qualification so that I can use that should my soccer career end prematurely as a result of injuries,” he said.

Khonadzeo added that he maintains his form by putting in extra training hours.

“I start training at 16:00 until 17:30 after school. From there I dedicate my time to academics,” he said.
