POLOKWANE – Bet-Shalom Christian School recently went on a leadership camp to exercise emotional intelligence, self-awareness and the ability to understand themselves and others at a deeper level.
Amanda Saville, school principal told Review that the camp aims to apply leadership skills to social issues, encouraging the learners to develop the skills necessary to be socially responsible future leaders.
Review asked some of the learners what they’ve learned at the leadership camp.
Thero Mogowe: When I spent time with my peers at the camp it helped us learn about social norms and manners. We learnt more about one another and it was also a team building project.Maggie Leope: I have learnt that being a leader means you must set a good example to your fellow school mates. Do not be a bully but be a good leader who inspires other learners in a positive way.Tshepiso Matlaila: Leadership camp tought us how to be effective and fair leaders towards other learners.
