POLOKWANE – It’s almost that time of the year where children are going back to school, especially for the kids going to daycare for the first time. Thabisile Mabina: My daughter was three years old when I had to take her to daycare. I had to explain to her at home what going to daycare means. When we got to the gate of the daycare I kneeled down and told her I will see her after school when I come back from work.
Pheladi Mabule: “When I first took my son to daycare for the first he didn’t cry at all. I think it’s because he saw his cousins going and coming back from school daily that made the situation made it easier for him.”
Tshego Tladi: “When I took my children to daycare for the first time I had to make sure that they were prepared. In preparation, I showed them videos of children in class and explained to them that they’ll be in the same situation the following year. Both my kids started daycare at the age of three. “
Mimi Makhura: “I physically had to take him to the daycare so that he could see where he will be going to school the next year. When the time arrived he was familiar with the place and he didn’t give me problems at all.”
