Road without signage for years

The road is the new speedway for motor vehicles and race track for motorbikes over weekends.

EDITOR – In response to the letter from H Lodetti in the Sun dated 29 May, about non-existent road markings.

Since the completion of the upgrade of roads and walkways along the main road through Warner Beach more than a year or two ago, no road markings or road signs were replaced.

The road is the new speedway for motor vehicles and race track for motorbikes over weekends.

The broken concrete fence at Warner Beach railway station, the memorial cross at Sykes Road and the oil spillage and car parts in front of the Breaker View flats on Andrew Zondo Road is a reminder of some gruesome accidents that happened since the following road signs and road markings disappeared.

* Pedestrian crossing from roadside café to Baggies Beach.

* Pedestrian crossing at Hall Road to Warner Beach Railway Station.

* Pedestrian crossing at Hawthorn Road to the subway under the railway tracks.

* School warning signs from all direction to the approach to Warner Beach Prep School.

* Warning signs for dangerous and concealed driveways/roads at Sykes and Merrit roads.

* Speeding control signs used to be 40km/h along the dangerous stretch of road from Almond Road to Warner Beach Prep School.

The only noticeable street sign erected but not credited to the local authorities, is the new road name sign at the corner of Sykes and Andrew Zondo Roads.
