In the first incident, on April 17, Blue Security tactical officers were alerted by a tracking team to the live location of a stolen Nissan NP200 bakkie taken from Sydenham. The vehicle was reportedly still in motion, prompting an immediate tactical response to KwaMakhutha. Acting on the latest co-ordinates provided by the tracking team, officers conducted a search operation and located the vehicle within the area. The bakkie was secured and later handed over to the tracking team for further processing.

In a separate but similar incident on April 20, a Blue Security tactical officer received intelligence from a tracking group regarding a vehicle stolen in the Newlands West area, which was being actively monitored in KwaMakhutha.

Using local area knowledge and co-ordinated efforts with the tracking team, the officer assisted in locating the vehicle. Members of the SAPS also provided support to ensure the operation was conducted safely and effectively.

The recovered vehicle was secured and handed over to the relevant parties for further investigation and processing.

Authorities continue to encourage the use of tracking technology and co-ordinated reporting to improve recovery rates and response times in stolen vehicle cases.
