A choo-choo train ride to save nature in Warner Beach
The group of primary school learners boarded the train at Phahla station and headed to Warner Beach to pick up litter on the beach.
AMANZIMTOTI Primary School’s Grade 4 class recently hopped on board their first-ever train ride to Warner Beach, turning the journey into a lesson in community and conservation on December 2.

The adventure began at Phahla station, where eager learners cheered as the train rolled in. According to Clean Surf Project’s Romy Wenzel, the excitement increased during the scenic ride.
Upon arriving at Warner Beach, the learners and their teachers began collecting 25 bags of litter along the coastline to Winklespruit.
“It was heartwarming to see such dedication to protecting nature and marine life,” said Romy.
The school and Clean Surf Project expressed gratitude to Prasa for the clean, safe journey and extra security provided during the trip.
“The spotless trains added to the fun, and the learners loved the ride. Huge thanks to Romy for helping us teach the importance of preserving our beaches,” the school said in a statement.
