Edu Paw volunteer in need of support after house break-in
Edu Paw volunteer and facilitator, Nomfundo Luthuli, is picking up the pieces after losing everything to burglars while out visiting family.
THE founder of Edu Paw, Cathy Keegan, has made a desperate plea for assistance after the home of the Edu Paw programme facilitator, Nomfundo Luthuli, was stripped bare, leaving her scrambling for ways to support her two daughters, a six-month-old and four-year-old.

After returning to her home in Umgababa Beach from a family visit, Luthuli found that everything from her home was stolen, from the furniture to appliances, clothing and food. Even the doors were taken. She suspects it to be the work of the ‘Whoonga Boys’ gang.
Luthuli stepped into the role of facilitator of Amanzimtoti SPCA’s Edu Paw programme when Keegan relocated to Cape Town.
Keegan said, “Nomfundo has done a phenomenal job taking over as facilitator, an unpaid, voluntary position, purely out of her deep love for animals. She puts her heart and soul into teaching children how to properly care for their pets and shares a beautiful bond with every child she works with. She is a gift to the community and we are currently looking for any way to pay this amazing woman a monthly salary and do our utmost to get her back on her feet. We are making a heartfelt appeal to our community to please help however you can.”
Donations of goods for Luthuli and her family can be dropped off at the Edu Paw office situated outside Amanzimtoti SPCA on June 7 from 09:00 to 11:00. If you would prefer to make a financial donation, EFTs can be made to the following account:
