Folweni school gets literacy boost thanks to AVBOB
Masuku Primary School in Folweni is one of the schools selected for an AVBOB Road to Literacy trolley library.
A much-needed investment into literacy was recently welcomed by Masuku Primary School in Folweni, thanks to AVBOB’s Road to Literacy initiative.

The school’s Ayanda Khumalo said that the blessing came at the perfect time, during Literacy Month.
“The books in the trolley library AVBOB donated are worth almost R60 000 and allows us the incredible opportunity to develop reading among our children. We are extremely grateful,” said Khumalo.
Road to Literacy
The corporate social investment project is run by AVBOB and supported by Oxford University Press SA.
The donations are aimed at strengthening literacy, learning and access to educational resources in underserved rural communities.
The numbers
- 2 000 trolley libraries were donated so far.
- One million books were provided.
- The campaign reached all nine provinces in 11 official languages.
- The 2026 campaign donated over R115m in books.
