PAM Chalder-Royle, Sue Welch and Linda McGregor were the overall winners of the Warner Beach Caltex twinkle trips played at Winklespruit Bowling Club on Wednesday.
Second session winners were Julie Sutherland, Jacqui Fouche and Margaret van Belkum.
Estelle van der Merwe was the winner of the spider.
Overall winners of the men’s trips played last Thursday were Herbie Hofmann, Owen Turner and George Cormack. Brian Bodley, Bruce Campbell and Jimmy Ronald were runners- up. Neville Roscoe won the 100 board.
The Clearwater Spur mixed 2-4-2 overall winners on Saturday were Mike and Di Kruger. Jeff and Margaret van Belkum were second session winners. Eddie and Lou Lou Bingham won the 100 board.
John Scott and Tony Fitzsimmons were victorious over Freddy Hetterscheidt and Brian Bodley in the finals of the nominated men’s 2-4-2. John Scott and Lynn Fitzsimmons beat Mac and Joyce Mackrory in the third leg of the nominated mixed 2-4-2. Mike and Di Kruger beat Allan Duncan and Sylveigh Ananiadis in the second leg of the nominated mixed 2-4-2. Mike Kruger beat Brian Bodley in the men’s senior singles played last Wednesday.
Friday night’s meal was enjoyable and the club appreciates the efforts made by Cynthia Raubenheimer who prepared the delicious meal and Trish Farmer’s dessert. There will be another meal this Friday evening. Put your names on the list on the noticeboard or let Trish know before Friday if you are attending, for catering reasons. Chris Bester was the Friday evening attendance draw winner. As he was not present, the winnings will be a carry-over.
Diarise the following dates: The monthly mixed trips will be played on Saturday, 23 September at 8.30am for 9am. There will be a bring and braai after the game. The men’s monthly 2-4-2 will be played on Thursday, 28 September. Check the competition notice board and complete the competitions that are outstanding before the end of September.
Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, at 1.30pm for 2pm.
Winkle BC wishes Cedric Kruger and Estelle van der Merwe a happy birthday this week. May they have a blessed year ahead.
