Amanzimtoti runners race against the clock

Runners joined in their numbers for the Amanzimtoti Athletics Club's recent time trial, with over 40 taking part in the 4km run.

RUNNERS from the Amanzimtoti Athletics Club showed up in full force for the club’s time trial on February 12, with 40 members taking part in the 4km run and three for the walk, while six ran the 8km drummers.

Amanzimtoti runners, Shabeer Razak and Vic Boodhoo, ran the Sama half marathon on Sunday. Razak completed the run in 02:00:10, followed by Boodhoo with a time of 02:00:15. In total, 11 runners from Amanzimtoti participated.

Vice chairman of the club, Wayne Schonknecht, invited those interested to join the club on Wednesday at 17:50 for weekly time trials, and on Saturdays at 05:50 for pipeline runs.
