TWO men from Wentworth have been taken in for questioning in connection with a case of attempted murder and pointing of a firearm which occurred in Hime Street on Sunday (January 11).
The pair, aged 20 and 24, were taken into custody by the police following recent shooting incidents in Hime Street.
It is alleged that two rival groups exchanged gunfire last Thursday (January 8), and police were called to defuse the situation.
On Friday (January 9) another shooting was reported in Hime Street. No injuries were reported.

KZN police spokesperson Captain Ntathu Ndlovu confirmed that the suspects are being questioned in connection with a case of attempted murder and pointing of a firearm. Ndlovu added that investigations are ongoing.
In November last year, two people died while seven were injured when suspects opened fire on them.
Jayden Majority, 20, and Laydon Long, 15 were shot dead while seven other victims were transported to hospital and are reportedly fighting for their lives.

The victims’ ages range between 15 and 22. A dog was also shot and killed during the incident. The shooting followed a police intelligence-driven operation that was conducted last year in Hime Street where two alleged key gang and drug figures were arrested.
Shortly after the shooting, police were deployed and conducted foot patrols in Hime Street.
The aim of the operation was to address the escalation of drive-by shootings and gang-related incidents in the area.
