Become a volunteer at The Bluff CPF
The Bluff CPF is seeking dedicated volunteers who will serve the community and work closely with the community leaders and the police,
THE Bluff Community Policing Forum (CPF) has embarked on a drive to recruit volunteers to serve in its structure.
Chairperson of the CPF, Sidney Govindsamy, said the CPF is looking for dedicated individuals, youths and residents to join the Bluff CPF.
Those willing to become volunteers of The Bluff CPF will have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies,
- Engage with community leaders, and fellow volunteers to address crime prevention strategies,
- Promote community awareness,
- Foster positive relationships between residents and law enforcement.

He said the CPF also offers fingerprinting services for all volunteers.
“This additional step helps us ensure the integrity and safety of our team members, as well as maintain a high level of trust within the community. The individual should not have a criminal conviction,” he said.
By joining The Bluff CPF, you will:
- Play an active role in keeping the community safe.
- Build strong connections with local law enforcement and community members.
- Raise awareness about crime prevention and safety measures.
- Contribute ideas and skills towards creating a safer neighbourhood.
“No prior experience is necessary to join the Bluff CPF. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life who are committed to making a positive impact. Training and support will be provided to all volunteers,” said Govindsamy.
The community is reminded that participation in the Bluff CPF is voluntary, and no monetary compensation is given.
“We believe that your involvement can make a real difference in our community’s safety and well-being. Join us today and be a part of something impactful as the high levels of crime highlights the importance of community involvement. We need your support and involvement in curbing crime in the area; we urge you to take the initiative and join the CPF,” said Govindsamy.
Requirements for a CPF Youth Desk:
- Typically include being 16 or older (though some are 18-35),
- Residing in the specific community,
- Having no criminal record,
- Demonstrating passion for addressing social issues affecting youth, and crime prevention,
- Being willing to volunteer, parental consent for minors, and often a personal interview to align with the CPF’s community safety plan.
Key functions of the youth desk:
- Social crime prevention: Co-ordinating youth safety projects and activities
- Addressing social issues: Focusing on challenges like bullying, drug abuse, trafficking and mental health
- Community engagement: Working with police to prevent crime committed by or against young people.
