Joint police and security teams recover stolen car in Jacobs

The vehicle was initially traced to Umlazi on Wednesday afternoon and recovered the following day near Jacobs Hostel.

A JOINT operation between the police, security companies and a tracking company led to the recovery of a stolen car near Jacobs Hostel earlier today (January 8).

A Land Rover Discovery 4 was stolen on Wednesday (January 7) during a home invasion in Hillcrest, Pinetown.

According to the spokesperson for PT Alarms, Dhevan Govindasamy, a tracker company alerted their tactical team, and the vehicle was tracked to Umlazi E section via the tracking device.

“PT Alarms’ tactical team mobilised immediately to the location, conducting a thorough search of the area. Although initial efforts were unsuccessful, collaboration with Tracker Connect, PT Alarms, and Umlazi Trio continued into the evening, with all units working to locate the stolen vehicle.

“Early this morning, Tracker Connect received an update indicating the vehicle’s movement in Jacobs’ hostel area. PT Alarms tactical team rapidly mobilised to the location, and the vehicle has successfully been recovered by PT Tactical TU1.”
