Dine and dance to raise funds for children with autism

South Africa's esteemed jazz musicians have joined to serenade audiences at the fundraising event.

THE COLOURS of Bliss Autism Centre, a non-profit organisation catering to the educational and social needs of children with all spectrums of autism, will host a dinner and dance to raise funds for the organisation’s programmes.

Headlined by some of South Africa’s esteemed jazz musicians, including George Mari, Debbie Mari and Melvin Peters, the event, which will be held at Clairwood High School on July 15, is set to be a night to remember.

The centre was started in Merebank in 2022 by founder, Kubashnie Padayachee, a teacher who left her profession in 2015 to tend to the special needs of her daughter, Saiantha, who was diagnosed with autism.

Finding herself creating the non-profit organisation in Warangal Road, Kubashnie began providing children with autism with a happy, safe place to learn.

The centre now operates from Highbury Road in Brighton Beach until they are able to secure a bigger premises.
