Become a cool ‘kid’ coder at free coding club

The dojo covers coding skills in Scratch, HTML and Python. CoderDojo is a global, open-source, volunteer-led movement that organises free, non-profit coding clubs for young people, aged between seven and 17.

TECH savvy youngsters who are interested in creating apps from their phones or building their own website to show off their interests are invited to join the CoderDojo.

Based at the Blue Roof Life Space in Austerville, Wentworth, the CoderDojo allows young people the opportunity to learn coding for free.

The dojos Ashley Naidoo, said, “Dojos are fun spaces where children and teenagers can use their imagination and creativity to learn cool new skills and make new friends.

“The dojo covers coding skills in Scratch, HTML and Python. CoderDojo is a global, open-source, volunteer-led movement that organises free, non-profit coding clubs (dojos) for young people, aged between seven and 17.

Learners develop skills in programming and developing websites, apps, programmes and games. They build things with code, electronics and much more. We encourage parents to allow their children to take advantage of this free initiative, which will benefit their children,” Naidoo said.

The CoderDojo runs every Tuesday and Friday from, 15:00 to 16:30.
