Solomon said the meeting was attended by stakeholders across so many spheres of the community including business, non-profit organisations, sport, child welfare, police, health, community response forces, environmental, flea market events and faith-based organisations.

“I was very encouraged to see that The Bluff will support this very important initiative. Training for the executive will take place soon and the war room first meeting will be early in the first quarter of 2025.

Why is the war room important?

“The war room benefits the ward with assistance from all levels of government and is supported by the office of the MEC provincially and by the mayor’s office locally,” said Solomon.

In his acceptance speech, the new convener, Thandazani Ndlela said, “My job is to serve the community I stay in and to make sure that the community is safe at all times. We will see to it that the community always gets the services it is meant to  and we ensure that we are helping women and children in the ward.”
