Apply for informal trading stalls and retail market spaces

eThekwini Municipality is opening an opportunity to interested individuals to apply for informal trading stalls and retail market spaces.

THE eThekwini Municipality’s Business Support, Tourism, Markets, and Agri-Business Unit invites people residing in eThekwini and surrounding areas to apply for trading stalls, units, or kiosks. Those residing in the south of Durban are urged to apply in the following trading areas:

  • Merewent Bombay Walk has three sites available.
  • Isipingo Block B, three sites
  • Isipingo SMMES Units, two sites
  • Folweni Container Park, one site
  • Ezimbuzini Traders Market in Umlazi, one site
  • Ezimbuzini Autohub Stalls in Umlazi, one site
  • Chatsworth, RK Khan, one site
  • Isipingo Block C, one site
  • Isipingo Hillview, two sites

Where to apply?

Interested individuals in south of Durban areas are urged to visit 16 Inwabi Road in Isipingo or contact Sibusiso Masuku on 031 902 2024 or 072 243 6067.

Potential applicants are invited to submit an application letter to the above address should they meet the following criteria:

  • Must be trading on a full-time basis
  • Must be unemployed or have no other business elsewhere
  • Must not have another trading stall within the eThekwini Municipality area

Applications should include the following requirements:

  • Trading activity/product to be sold
  • Copy of South African ID; if a foreign national, a legal work permit from the Department of Home Affairs is required
  • Indicate if you are physically challenged and provide proof
  • Full address and proof of residence
  • State your gender

Applications should be directed to the above-mentioned contact persons using the contact details provided.

The closing date for applications is on June 30 at noon.
