Proteas white-ball fixtures against Australia announced

The teams will clash in three T20 matches and five ODIs later this year.

South Africa’s Proteas will tune up for the Cricket World Cup with a five-match series against Australia in August and September.

The Proteas will also face the Australians in three T20 matches.

The tour to South Africa by Australia will mark the start of the 2023/34 international season for the Proteas.

Kingsmead to host T20s

Kingsmead in Durban will host the three T20 matches on August 30, and September 1 and 3.

The five-match ODI series will be played in Bloemfontein, Potchefstroom, Centurion and Joburg.

The Mangaung Oval will host the first two ODIs on September 7 and 9 before the teams clash at the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom on September 12.

The teams then head to Gauteng for the final matches at SuperSport Park on September 15, with the final match set for the Wanderers on September 17.

Cricket World Cup

“It is the start of the international season for us and it is a particularly important campaign in many respects because of the Cricket World Cup which is taking place in India later in the year,” said Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki.

“We haven’t qualified just yet, but we hope to be there and challenging the best in the world when the tournament is played in October and November.

“Games and tours like these against a formidable Australia side can only do good for our Proteas. It is also an opportunity for coach Rob Walter and his team to keep building on the excellent work they have already done so far together.”
