Hard Day’s Night looks ready to pick up first feature victory

Joey Ramsden sends out Disco Al and St Tropez and while it could be too short for the former, St Tropez will go close if not in need of a run. Andrew Fortune takes the ride.

The Cape season swings into action with the running of the Grade 3 Magnum Cape Classic over 1400m tomorrow at Kenilworth. It looks competitive but the value could lie with Hard Day’s Night who has won his last two races with ease.

The son of Warm White Night is trained by Joey Ramsden, who is very good at easing horses into their racing and allowing them to blossom slowly. Hard Day’s Night has run four times and after two places, reeled off two facile wins. Donavan Mansour takes the ride.

Stable companion The Stone Thrower is another who is coming along well. He is 3kg better off with Captain Chaos for a 3.50-length beating and this time has the benefit of No 1 draw.
