Normanz can bounce back to form

Although he is not quite the same force that saw him pull off a Grade 1 Victory in 2014 the Charles Laird-trained Normanz is good enough to win a Pinnacle Stakes in Race 5 at Scottsville today.

The five-year-old Var gelding returns to the scene of that triumph and gets a nice inside draw and the services of Anton Marcus.

Clearly Barbosa will be his main danger as that six-year-old has won three of his last five starts.

The Sean Tarry trained Rikitikitana in Race 7 has ability and he showed in no uncertain fashion with a wide margin maiden win at this course last month and can follow up by winning a graduation plate over 1400m.

The drop in trip should not be a problem and Anthony Delpech retains the ride.

Main Submission may not have the class of Rikitikitana but has ground out wo wins in his three starts to date so clearly has ability.

Translunar comes into the race as the best weighted runner but will need to improve on a disappointing last run.

At least Translunar is better drawn this time round and the four-year-old could benefit from a more patient ride.

Feature winning Lauderdale in Race 8 was not disgraced when fourth to the classy Guiness in her latest and should be all the rage but jockey Muzi Yeni will need to overcome a wide draw in stall No 12.

One horse that might be a worth a bet at what could be decent odds is Wow Holiday in Race 3.

The Mike de Kock-trained Argentina import was a good third at this course in June and his next two poor runs were on the Polytrack.

It is possible that he did not like that track.
