Tristan Godden is in command

Promising 2.5kg-claiming apprentice Tristan Godden looks to hold a winning chance in an open looking Race 5 with Cat In Command over 1600m on the Greyville Polytrack tonight.

The Patrick Lunn yard is in good form and Cat In Commend is at his very best on this surface. The five-year-old gelding was third behind Royal Colours and beaten only 2.25 lengths. The weight turnover of 5kg suggests Cat In Command can turn the tables.

Royal Colours is better over further so did well to win that day and cannot be lightly dismissed. Nitro Nori is capable on his day and should be in the shake-up.

Jockey Anton Marcus was aboard Sovereign Reign when the Dynasty gelding broke his maiden tag on this track in March and the four-year-old won again after that so is clearly improving. Sovereign Reign is drawn in pole position.

The King’s Hand won his only race over much further than this trip but indicated his wellbeing with a runner-up berth behind Roy’s Winter Patch over this course and distance last time out.

Fleetfox was touched off late by Excalivar in his latest but Excalivar has proven to be disappointing since so there is a question mark regarding the strength of that form line. He does however have to be considered.

Rocketball and Black Jaguar are two capable of winning in similar company. Earlier on the card there could be two possible winners in Tanjiro and Madame Justice.

The ever reliable Anton Marcus could steer them both to victory in modest maiden company in races 3 and 4 respectively.
