Sundowns accused of crippling other teams

One top coach in the Absa Premiership has whispered into the ear of Phakaaathi, detailing his unhappiness at his counterpart Pitso Mosimane and his Mamelodi Sundowns management, accusing them of crippling other teams because they cannot stand competition.

The coach, who pleaded for his identity to remain anonymous, said Sundowns are not chasing Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United strikers Gift Motupa and Bradley Grobler because they need them, but only because they want to weaken the opposition.

“They have done it before, it is not the first time. Jeremy Brockie is one player who they signed and then discarded soon after,” said the coach.

Meanwhile, as reported earlier, SuperSport United’s asking price for Aubrey Modiba was reportedly the reason why the talks between Matsatsantsa and Mamelodi Sundowns over the Bafana Bafana forward’s services collapsed.

Sundowns were keen to sign the 24-year-old during the current transfer period, but according to reports, the Brazilians failed to meet SuperSport’s price tag for his services.
