"I can tell you there will be no mercy for Cameroon,” said Broos.
As he prepares Bafana Bafana for tonight’s encounter against his former team Cameroon, coach Hugo Broos says he has no mercy for the Indomitable Lions whom he led to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in 2017.
South Africa will meet Cameroon in the last-16 round of the competition at the Al Medina Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, this evening (kick-off is at 9pm SA time).

Speaking to the media in Rabat on Saturday ahead of the clash, Broos admitted that Cameroon will always have a place in his heart, but added that his job now is to guide Bafana to the next round of the AFCON.
“If you win an AFCON with a country, there’s always a little place in your heart that stays for the rest of your life, and that’s the case with Cameroon and me. It will always be there. But tomorrow (Sunday), I can’t have mercy on them. I want to win the game tomorrow because I am the coach of South Africa now,” he said.
“Just because I spoke highly of Cameroon doesn’t mean I don’t want to win tomorrow’s match. I can tell you there will be no mercy for Cameroon tomorrow,” added Broos.
Bafana excited ahead of Cameroon clash
Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena shared the team’s excitement ahead of a match against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
“Of course, as a team we are excited about the game tomorrow. The talk we are having (as players) is that we must do better than we did in the last AFCON (Bafana Bafana finished third with a bronze medal). We know that it is going to be a tough game against Cameroon, but we’re looking forward to it,” he said.
