City boss wants Makola to appeal PSL ban
Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has urged midfielder Mpho Makola to challenge the Premier Soccer League's six-month ban.

Makola was handed the ban by the League’s DC for shoving referee Abongile Tom during a Telkom Knockout match against Kaizer Chiefs.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder was cautioned for protesting the referee’s penalty call by way of pushing the official.
“He has the right to appeal and I would suggest he does that and I would back him and assist him to do that,” Comitis was quoted as saying by PowerFM.
“We don’t condone this behaviour at all. We took all necessary internal measures as we would with any player that behaves that way – bringing the club into disrepute.
“The punishment is clear. It says if there’s intent to do bodily harm and is an aggressive action of assault then you must give him six months subminimum which I agree. I don’t have a problem with that. That’s what the rule says.
“But you have to first prove that there was intent to do bodily harm. You can’t make your own interpretation Mr prosecutor. Look at the merit of the case itself. Was there intent to do bodily harm, was it an assault? What is the referee saying? After all these, he had time to reflect, he called him out there for a fair play.”
