Sundowns close in on Algerian defender

Pitso Mosimane has confirmed Mamelodi Sundowns' interest in former ES Setif left-back Fares Hachi.

The defender is currently training with the Pretoria outfit with a move to the PSL pending.

Hachi is part of Mosimane’s squad that travelled to Tanzania to play friendlies against Young Africans and Simba.

“We saw him when Setif played against us,” Mosimane told Kickoff.

“We saw him during our match analysis, you know us, we pulled many. We pulled out against Setif and we identified him as a threat before the game. He was a threat during the game.

“It happened that he is free from Setif and also wants to play in the Champions League. Remember Setif are on suspension after the pitch invasion.

“It’s a difficult one because to find a North African to come to the south and play, I think it will be the first or second one.

“What is good, we like the player. I would like to sign the player. Obvious the business side is with the team and his representatives. He was with us in Rustenburg, we saw him, we like him.”
