Katsande elects warriors captain

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande has selected his successor to take over the armband after retiring from international football.

The outgoing Zimbabwean captain announced his retirement after the Warriors crashed out of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Gabon.

Katsande elected his midfield partner in Danny Phiri to take over the reins in the Warriors team. Phiri is based in South Africa with Golden Arrows.

“I think Danny Phiri should take over the armband. He is there to lead the team going forward. The team has great potential to do well in future,” Katsande said to The News Day.
