The 21-year-old was previously chased away at Usuthu after allegations of ill-discipline. But Konqobe claims he is a changed man after Jomo Biyela guided him at the now defunct Thanda Royal Zulu.

“Being back at AmaZulu is a great feeling,” he said.

“I left at a time where I was enjoying my football and everything was great. Off-the-field things there were what came between us.

“Being professional is the only way everything has to be. I’m glad I’m back home and I’m hoping it’s going be a very good season for us.”

The young defender is one the players Usuthu signed from Thanda after they purchased their Absa Premiership status. He said being back in Durban has been great.

“It has been more than amazing. I missed the guys and it’s good to be back with the family. It’s like I never left,” he said.
