Bafana Bafana face the Burkinabe in a 2018 World Cup qualification match at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“I trust coach Baxter to do the job, he took over the national team while qualification campaign had already started and beat Nigeria. Qualifying for the World Cup isn’t as easy as people think it is.

“I trust Baxter to do his best to get us to the World Cup and I believe he has the experience that the national team needs,” said the Cape Town City mentor.

“I haven’t lost hope that Bafana can make it to the World Cup, we need to field experienced players. We need our players based in Europe that play at the highest level against big teams, we need to attack them from the first whistle,” McCarthy told Isolezwe.

Dino Ndlovu, Kamohelo Mokotjo, Lebohang Mothiba, Bongani Zungu, Andile Jali, Thulani Serero and Keagan Dolly are the European-based players in Bafana squad.
