Walters weighs up his options

Cape Town City goalkeeper Shu-Aib Walters has not ruled out a move away from the club when his contract expires at the end of June.

The 36-year-old has lost his number one jersey at City, with coach Benni McCarthy preferring Sage Stephens as the club’s first choice goalkeeper.

“Well, my contract is ending in June, but we have already started negotiations for my role for next season at the club,” he told Vodacom Soccer.

“Yeah, I will see how it goes. Obviously see what my body tells me ahead of the pre-season.

“What I want to achieve, do I want to go and push another keeper at another club or stay at the club and challenge myself to improve on our clean sheet tally with Sage.

“We had a successful one combined with 15 clean sheets so I will be looking to improve.”
