Chiefs midfielder warns against fraudsters

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande’s cellphone number was hacked.


Katsande was in Madagascar with his Amakhosi teammates for their second leg Caf Confederation cup match against Elgeco Plus when he learned scammers where using his mobile number to ask for money from his contacts.

The Amakhosi workhorse says people need to keep an eye out for messages from in “078” which was used to ask for money, the fraudsters hacked Katsande’s number and send messages asking for money while pretending to be the Zimbabwean international.

Katsande is one of many football players who have been victims of having their numbers cloned and used to solicit money from unsuspecting friends and family.

“Hello guys, my 078 number is hacked. Please don’t send any money asked by that person pretending to be me. It’s not me. Am in Madagascar for our match.thank you kitoko makasi,” read a twee from Katsande.
