Mphahlele boost for Chiefs

Ramahlwe Mphahlele is working on returning to action for Kaizer Chiefs as he has been playing in the Amakhosi reserves to build up his match fitness.

The Limpopo-born defender has been on the sidelines for more than a month due to a knee injury.

The defender played the full 90 minutes of the team’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge game against Chippa United which they won 4-1 at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.

According to Chiefs reserve team coach Arthur Zwane, the defender was not supposed to play the full game, but he insisted on continuing.

“I was going to take him off at half-time, but he was feeling good and wanted to continue playing. But we have to be careful with him, we don’t want him to get injured again,” said Zwane.
