Motaung ready to welcome Khumalo back to Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung says the door at Naturena is open for Amakhosi legend Doctor Khumalo to return.

Khumalo has been out of a job since resigning as the technical director at Baroka FC.

Motaung said Khumalo was welcome to come back to the club if he would like to be part of Chiefs’ technical team.

Chiefs have brought back former striker Shaun Bartlett as an assistant coach to new coach Ernst Middendorp.

The football manager said the club had not discussed bringing back Khumalo to the club and he hadn’t reached out to them to talk about possibly joining Middendorp and Bartlett on the bench.

“We have always said that Doctor was not chased away from Chiefs but at the moment he has not come to us and we have not had discussions around him‚” Motaung was quoted by SowetanLIVE.

“He is and has always been part of the family. I was actually with him last week. At the moment there is no vacancy for him at the club and we have not even had discussions about him. There is no animosity between us and him‚ he is a legend of this club.”
