Banyana star joins Cyprus club

Mulaudzi says she is excited about the move and the opportunity to play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Banyana Banyana striker Rhoda Mulaudzi will now be playing her football in Cyprus joining Apollon Ladies FC after her contract with Australian based outfit Canberra United ended at the end of the Fifa Women’s World Cup recently.

The Limpopo-based striker signed with the Cyprus club on Thursday and says she is excited about the move and the opportunity to play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

“I am so excited about this move, and I am almost certain it will open doors for other players to come this side (Cyprus). What makes me even happier is that I will be playing in the UEFA Women Champions League – in terms of levels this is the second highest in the game after the World Cup, and now it is a dream come true,” Mulaudzi was quoted on the Safa website.

Mulaudzi will be wearing jersey number 12 at her new club. The club was formed in 2007 and they have won the Cypriot First Division League 10 times.
