Pule, Ofori, Lepasa to come back next year for Pirates

'We'll only probably be seeing Pule back in the new year, as he is still in the process of his rehabilitation program,' said the source.

While Orlando Pirates have welcomed back a number of players from injury before the Christmas break, co-coach Fadlu Davids has given an update on other players who are working on returning to full fitness.

Winger Vincent Pule, midfielder Zakhele Lepasa and goalkeeper Richard Ofori are all still in the process of getting back into action.

Pule got injured while on Bafana Bafana duty, while Ofori also sustained an injury on national durty for Ghana. Meanwhile, Lepasa suffered a huge blow when he fractured his ankle during the Buccaneers clash with Chippa United last year.

“We definitely won’t be seeing Vincent Pule back in December. We’ll only probably be seeing Pule back in the new year, as he is still in the process of his rehabilitation program. Yes, Goodman Mosele is back on the grass and has rejoined the team in training. Happy Jele is also back, yes, and will start training with the team again very soon,” Davids revealed.

“But not Pule and not Lepasa probably this year, while also not Ofori this year no.”

Mosele and Jele return to match day selections after seeing the likes of Ben Motshwari, Thabang Monare as well as Tshegofatso Mabasa making their way back into the team.”

The Bucs technical team is surely glad to have some of these players back in the squad, as most of them were considered key players at the club. Another thing is that it will give coaches a proper chance to work on having a consistent line-up, which they will hope will also bring consistency in positive results.

Bucs have only four games before the end of the year, with their next meeting being against Swallows FC on Tuesday, followed by Mamelodi Sundowns three days later, Marumo Gallants on 20 December and lastly, AmaZulu FC on 23 December.

The Buccaneers currently sit in third place on the league standings with 23 points after 15 games.
