“Da Gama … will be working alongside … (Current head coach) MacDonald Makhubedu for the rest of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership campaign,” said Sekhukhune in a club statement.

Da Gama, meanwhile, expressed his delight at joining the club.

“I am so pleased and so happy to be part of a team for the future in South Africa,” said Da Gama.

“This team is going to go far. The management is very professional, the supporting staff are very professional, everyone is up to scratch.

“Using my experience of coaching in the PSL in the last 20 years, the important question is how to motivate the players. We have to get into the heads of the players, to understand where they are and what their ambitions are and what they want to achieve.”

Sekhukhune are currently 10th in the DStv Premiership, with 30 points from 25 matches.
