AmaZulu deny chasing former Chiefs  star

AmaZulu has dismissed reports that they are looking at signing veteran midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane.

According to Isolezwe, Letsholonyane was spotted with coach Cavin Johnson at the recent Engen tournament where the pair had reportedly discussed Letsholonyane’s possible move to Usuthu.

However, an unnamed official from AmaZulu said the club is not signing Letsholonyane.

“If we had to sign a player it would be someone young. We would rather invest in a young player. We can’t sign a player who is at an advanced age like Letsholonyane after Bhele (Siyabonga Nomvethe) retired.”

Letsholonyane confirmed that he spoke to Johnson but it was not about him joining Usuthu next season.

“We spoke but only because we know each other and we were both at the Engen tournament,” Letsholonyane was quoted as saying by Isolezwe. “Yes, I don’t have a team at moment and I could join a side in Gauteng or KZN soon but I don’t want to elaborate on that.”
