Antipas was relieved of his coaching duties at the KZN outfit just a week before the start of the 2017/18 season.
“We parted ways amicably but I was left shocked and disappointed. I did not see it coming. I was training the team, preparing for the new season. I accept it, it’s part of football,” Antipas told The Sowetan.
Usuthu have replaced Antipas by former Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson.
It is believed that Antipas’ sacking was due to his lack of coaching experience in the Absa Premiership.
“It was my dream to coach in the South African Premiership and leave a mark. I think they decided to get Johnson because he has experience and I don’t.
“I had a wonderful stay in SA. If the opportunity to coach in SA arises again, I will gladly take it,” concluded Antipas.
