AmaZulu have not had a good start to their DStv Premiership campaign with just three wins after the first 10 games. This is after a lot was expected of the Durban side following their dreamlike run last season that saw them finish second.

Usuthu coach Benni McCarthy says the Fifa break was just what his team needed so they could recuperate and plot on how to get back to their best again.
“I think it was a well deserved break for the players. We had a couple of tough matches – some very good, some not so good. After the Cape Town City win the break came at the right time when the boys needed to get away from football for a little while,” said McCarthy on Wednesday.
“They needed to spend some time with their family and I gave them a decent time off. We are back now and this is our third day. It has been going well, the players look sharp and refreshed.”
Usuthu will return to action with a tricky away match to high-flying Stellenbosch FC. Stellies are second on the standings behind runaway leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
“I am excited for the last push until the Christmas break. We have a lot of games squeezed into that space, a lot of tough games.
“But it is something we are looking for and we think we can achieve our goals and get ourselves back on track and get the team where we think we should be,” said McCarthy.
