Now for a third one in a row, says Dolly as Chiefs target Usuthu
Amakhosi are on sixth spot, eight points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on the log.

Kaizer Chiefs’ mandate is to win every game they play, Keagan Dolly has revealed. The Amakhosi star says the two wins in a row has set them up to try and keep the winning run going when they meet AmaZulu FC on Wednesday at FNB Stadium.

Chiefs beat long standing rivals Orlando Pirates in a Soweto derby, then followed it up with a hard fought win against Maritzburg United at the weekend. These wins have pushed Amakhosi to sixth place and eight points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership standings.
“The trip to Maritzburg was a success in terms of us coming from the break and getting the three points,” says Dolly.
“It was not easy having to wait for the lights to come on. I think overall we defended well and we stuck to our game plan.
“We played better in the second half in terms of our pressing shape and putting pressure on them.
“We got a goal from a set piece which we have worked a lot on. It shows that we are improving as a team.”
The game against Maritzburg was delayed by over an hour at Harry Gwala Stadium with an electric fault reported as the cause of the mishap. But now that is done and dusted, Amakhosi are focused on the next one against Usuthu.
“We know AmaZulu are a good team, they are playing well. In the first (leg) game we equalised late… We are taking each game as it comes and it is now all focus is on AmaZulu.
“We have done a debrief on the Maritzburg game and tried to improve where we need to and implement on the day against AmaZulu. Having come from the victory against Pirates in the derby and collecting points against Maritzburg has put us in a good space as a team and that will help us against AmaZulu.
“We obviously want to win every game and that is what we are going to try for against AmaZulu.”
Usuthu are also on a good run having beat Cape Town City 2-0 before the Fifa break and came from 2-0 down to draw against high flying Stellenbosch FC last weekend.
