Bucs legend reckons Makaringe is Pirates’ best signing

Vilakazi is adamant that the midfielder will play a huge role at Bucs, but fans should not put him under pressure.

New Orlando Pirates midfielder Fortune Makaringe has an admirer in Pirates legend Benedict Vilakazi, who believes the midfielder is Bucs’ best signing this transfer window.

Looking at Makaringe’s performances, particularly last season at Maritzburg United, Vilakazi is adamant that the midfielder will play a huge role at Bucs, but fans should not put him under pressure.

“For me I think it’s this boy Makaringe, he did very well last season. But let’s not put pressure on him, he has been doing well so far and I’m happy with him,” said Vilakazi.

Makaringe made an appearance for Bucs in their 2-0 win over rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the pre-season match the Carling Black Label Cup.

The midfielder did not feature for Bucs in the team’s opening Absa Premiership match against Bloemfontein Celtic, which Bucs won 3-1 at Orlando Stadium.
