Celtic targets six points in Cape excursion

Bloemfontein Celtic coach Veselin Jelusic has hailed the two-week Fifa break that gave him a chance to refine his team ahead of two back-to-back Absa Premiership matches in Cape Town.

Phunya Selesele beat Cape Town City 1-0 on Tuesday, with the sensational Kabelo Mahlasela netting the goal, and will play Ajax Cape Town on Saturday night.

“The break gave us an opportunity to strategically plan for our opponents by identifying and addressing our own shortcomings. We also worked around tactics to amass the target points in Cape Town.

“Our system of play allows players to be flexible and adequately guided towards offensive play mixed with high-intensity type of approach. We are cautiously defending and trying hard to convert a host of chances created,” said Jelusic.

“I have been enjoying working with these players since day one. Their commitment humbles me daily, and that is the spirit that keeps us going as a team,” he added.
