Chiefs move into top 10 in African rankings

Following their 12-match unbeaten run, Kaizer Chiefs have moved into the top 10 in African club rankings.


According to the latest ranking table published by Footballdatabase.com, Amakhosi are now ranked ninth in Africa on 1516 points.

The African champions, who occupied top spot in August last year, are out of the top 10. The Brazilians are now 11th on the table.

Orlando Pirates, who have had a poor run in the Absa Premiership, are ranked at a lowly 48th spot in Africa.

Joint Absa Premiership leaders Bidvest Wits have moved into the top 20, while SuperSport United have moved into the top 50. Matsatsantsa a Pitori are ranked 45th in Africa.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly lead the standings, followed by Tunisia’s Esperance. TP Mazembe of the DRC are third, followed by fellow DRC counterparts Vita Club and then Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel, who complete the top five.
