Downs MDC team ready for Netherlands

The youngsters will be involved in a one-day international tournament and will also get to spend some time training at Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) headquarters.


Mamelodi Sundowns are getting ready to jet off to the Netherlands, where they will spend nine days in the European country after winning the MultiChoice diski challenge recently.

The young Masandawana were crowned champions of the MDC on the last day of the league after securing a 4-1 victory over Cape Town City to finish the season 34 points.

In the Netherlands, the team will get participate in the Multichoice international challenge along side home team Excelsior Rotterdam, Belgium based KAA Gent and Ichifuna from Japan in a one-day tournament.

The squad led by coach David Notoane will depart for the European country on Friday 17, March, and will return back to the country on Sunday, March 26.

The team, led by head coach David Notoane and skipper Motjeka Madisha, will depart for the Netherlands on Friday, March 17, 2017, and return to South Africa on Sunday, March 26, 2017.

Downs will also play friendly matches with PEC Zwolle and AZ Alkamaar and will also get to spend some time at the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) headquarters under the guidance of Dutch legends Frank de Boer and Aaron Winter.
