He has however promised that after four years at the team, he is still learning and willing to work hard to establish himself.

“To be honest I am not happy with my progress. I am still working on it and I am willing to work hard. I am learning from coach Steve (Komphela) and my teammates. My promise to the team and the supporters is that I will work hard and do more and do well for the team. I promise that I will do well,” he said.

Ekstein is expected to be one of the players Komphela calls upon to do duty when they host Baroka FC in a Nedbank Cup quarter final at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Saturday evening.

He said they expect a difficult match and that past results count for nothing.

“We know it’s not going to be an easy game but we are ready as a team. We have been preparing well. Our previous results against them count for nothing,” he said.
