Hunt confirms meeting Safa over Bafana job

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt revealed that he has been meeting Safa to discuss the vacant Bafana Bafana coaching job.

The post became vacant when Stuart Baxter resigned last Friday.

Hunt, who has often expressed his desire to lead the national team, has been overlooked by Safa, but it now looks like he will finally be given the job.

“It doesn’t matter, I don’t pay attention to that,” Hunt told reporters.

“I don’t think it’s the right forum to discuss that. I’ve supported them from day one in everything they do, from all the coaches they had.

“They’ve made decisions and it’s not my place to comment.

“I’ve had more interviews at Safa than anybody [laughs]. Everybody wants the national team to do well, but it’s not for me to comment on that.”
