A source at the club says the club can't afford to lose any more players, having parted ways with a number of their stars already.

With the Absa Premiership transfer window still open, Bidvest Wits are said to be standing firm on keeping midfielder Thabang Monare, who has been heavily linked with Kaizer Chiefs in recent weeks.

A source at the club says the club can’t afford to lose any more players, having parted ways with a number of their stars already.

The source added that Chiefs are not the only team interested in the midfielder, but there haven’t been any formal offers for the midfielder.

“Some of these we see from the media and some we hear from our people. But no one has really approached the club for his services. Anyway, Monare is not for sale and the club wants to hold on to him. He is part of coach Gavin Hunt’s plans for the season and we can’t afford to lose him,” said the source.
